That ending sequence is definitely gonna stick with me until January. The revelations in this episode really have the potential to shake the dynamic up and revitalize the show. I give the writers major props for not taking the easy way out. Looking at you, The Walking Dead.

I am a mess over Alex's coming out and subsequent heartbreak. Everything felt so organic and real and just hit so close to home. On some level, Chyler Leigh will always be Lexie Grey to me, but she's absolutely killing it this season and Alex Danvers is quickly becoming a very special character to me. Her scenes with

I had no idea until now… My mind is super blown.

This was such a satisfying finale. I'm so relieved that April had a healthy baby (and survived). Sarah Drew's acting was phenomenal. I mean, that 'You're probably going to see my vagina, which might be weird' line won't be leaving my brain anytime soon, partly because of how flawlessly it was delivered.

They never slept together. Alex hit on Mer, but she blew him off because McDreamy and he got wrapped up in Izzie soon after.

Since he had more of a distinct presence in the OR as an anesthesiologist, I sometimes forget that he's a resident if anything.

Alex Karev really is a wonder of character development. I used to get so frustrated with him in earlier seasons, but now he's the go-to character for stability. He's probably the only reason it didn't occur to me to dislike Jo until reading the comments on this site - because seeing the way he handles her freak outs
