First off, off-topic here, what the fuck is wrong with Kotaku’s repurposed website. I can’t even make the first post without turning off my ad blocker on mobile. And the load more comments is also broken with my mobile ad blocker. Ever since the redesigned, there are things you can’t do or see unless you’re in desktop

Welp, can’t wait for Game Grumps to play this so Arin can go insane and Dan can say “Arin...” like a disappointed mother

I don’t know. I loved having 4 high end weapons break during a single “major test of strength” trial. Or the giant hammer that was meant to break rocks shattering after breaking 4 boulders. It’s so so realistic and not in the least bit annoyingly tedious.

The Switch can barely handle Breath of the Wild most of the time. I doubt this is going to fare any better

“Hopefully it runs okay on the aging Switch hardware,” Kotaku senior reporter Ethan Gach wrote at the time of the reveal

It’s been said time and time before, but we really need a “Switch Pro” (or whatever moniker it’ll end up having).

I don’t know if I’d look at this and say “good graphics.” The art is wonderful, but this game has some serious my PC can barely run this aliasing going on in that preview video. I’m sure YouTube’s compression isn’t helping, and Nintendo can usually squeeze some solid performance out of their own hardware, but it’s

Attacking the guy willing to defend victims? Odd take, skeevy perv.

no me too. this isnt final fantasy. theres nothing wrong with games like this or even FF games like this but it should have been a spin off branch. at this point FFTs, which IS a spin off has more in common with the original titles than these new games, and thats just sad.

ugh, another final fantasy “action” rpg

give me a good turn based rpg, sigh

Torval adjust.

The thing is, they said similarly with FF15's interviews that it was a “throwback”(news flash: making constant references to other, more remembered FFs isn’t a throwback). But, yeah, I agree that the franchise is having a very apparent identity crisis. I pointed this out before FF15's release.

Well yeah, Clive isn’t currently standing in a ley line.

The game feels very reactionary to me. It is so focused on fixing faults from 13/15 that it is struggling to express its own identity. Some comments in previous media rounds have suggested the game is a throwback to the 1-6 generation, and he has a clear fondness for the tactics games which have a more serious high

The July launch you referenced was the actual beta period. I participated in the closed alpha, which was last May, and then the game came back in July for an open beta before launching with season one in August. They have just now decided that the game was in beta the whole time because they fucked up so bad. You

I feel like I’m the only person that misses Final Fantasy’s traditional turn based combat instead of the action RPG that it is now. :(

Looks like one of the most uninspired open worlds in recent memory

I see Square’s FFXIV’s Clive petting the dog and raise you Nintendo’s LoZ:TP’s Link picking up the dog:

Different clocktower.  The one that rings the bell is waaaayyy off in the distance.

that has to be one of the least labia-shaped things being called labia-shaped I’ve yet seen.
