I say this is a good thing, as I’m sure many others will echo. Far too many high profile games are released nowadays that suffer because of trying to meet publisher enforced deadlines.
It depends, we are talking of people here who are reverse engineering or creating from scratch programs capable of interpreting and replacing actual hardware. For example, the PS3 can emulate most PS2 games just fine, BUT that’s because Sony has internal knowledge of how the exact system worked.
