Oh yeah he was scary as hell. I expected him to just attack her brutally and it was an intense relief when he didn't.

Sure, but it could also be an anniversary gift or something Lucy got him after saving up. It IS weird that they made a point of showing us what kind of watch he had, and does suggest that will come up later on, but it doesn't necessarily mean he's a dirty cop.

For all that I enjoy the armchair analysis we all do the morning after these episodes air, I watch every single second in-the-moment in total focus and fascination. Sometimes the things critics say I find baffling because they'll have been their least favorite part but my top favorite, or vice versa.

Felt the same about the diner scene over the credits. Just a diner, just people eating, just people positively interacting with one another. A reminder that horror and pain and corruption aren't the only things that Twin Peaks is about - it's about small towns too, and people going about their lives while something

Loved the return of Harry Dean Stanton. He's really my second-favorite part of FWWM because he just so perfectly embodied all those crotchedy-old-guys I've known my whole life. I was just sad we didn't get to hear him refer to coffee as "Good morning America".

Ben was shown very clearly the ruin and damage his philandering had wrought throughout the original Twin Peaks. It's an interesting detail that while he's not a GOOD person by any means, he's at least tried to change the parts of himself that did the most damage.

I think if he comes back to himself, learning what Evil Cooper did to Diane (and possibly Audrey) will be a truly heart-wrenching scene to see Kyle Maclachlan play.

Yeah, that was him. I went and looked up the actor.

Yeah, Ray ain't walking away from this one. I think that scene with Darya made it clear that Evil Coop doesn't let people who turn on him stay alive for very long.

Yeah. She really knocked it out of the park on playing up the conflicting mix of emotions. She was clearly searching for some hint of Dale Cooper in the face and saw nothing.

She was actually trapped in the Great Northern in general - someone pointed this out to me a few episodes back. Jack Nance, God rest him, has a line where he mentions seeing Josie's face in the wood around the fireplace.

That's kind of my point - although to be honest I didn't think Audrey would walk away from the Great NOrthern entirely, she had such an innate head for business that the original Twin Peaks only briefly touched on. I wonder if we'll see her capably running some multi-national corporation elsewhere, something

Yeah, Laura Dern definitely made the mix of fear, grief, regret, and eventual slight relief at having it confirmed that -this really wasn't Dale Cooper- palpable. Excellent work from her in this episode.

It's just time. Most of the actors playing grown-ups were in their late thirties and early forties - Piper Laurie was almost sixty, and that tough old dame is still kickin' in her eighties now.

Yeah, the implication with Diane was pretty clear. And based on the build-up of their relationship in the earlier series (non-romantic but absurdly close friendship spanning years and years of working closely together), it would have been an even greater violation.

She might not be easy to reach - meanwhile, both of the others are literally a single phone call away, no need to search. But yeah, I wish they'd thrown in a detail about needing to get her phone number or find out where she lives now.

Especially that final close-up on the wall. I wanted it to have the vaguest outline of a face so badly. I'm absurdly disappointed that it didn't.

It does lend itself to certain hideous implications. And I don't like that Ben seems to not even be aware he has an existing daughter in any of his scenes.

Jean-Michel Renault dropping in and out of a French Canadian accent while on the phone was a detail I really appreciated - this guy's been living down in the U.S. for probably over a decade, so his accent has mostly gone, but when he started to get mad at the guy on the other end, he started getting his accent back.

He did, but only just barely.
