I kinda wish AvE would’ve done this. How else would we have known if it was a skookum choocher?

All MPG figures in this post are in US gallons.

Huh. That’s very surprising. Sorry for the attitude.

Yep. There are the odd cases where there have been much higher degradation from constant supercharger use for full charges.

Yup. Pretty standard in electrical surge applications. The difference is that capacitors have historically have had low energy density so the only place they made sense in scale was for grid applications.

Curious, but could you run a battery-capacitor hybrid system where the capacitors are rapid-charged while recharging, then that energy slowly dispersed back into the battery pack after disconnecting?  Granted this wouldn’t make any sense if the capacitors were kept charged while driving, but if they were used only as

Ford Management: “We’ve wildly over estimated earnings and made some very questionable decisions this year resulting in a loss of profit, jobs, and market share. So the workforce will have to pay for our bonuses, greed, and stupidity with their jobs.”

Not only are Mack’s takes good, they are good six months before the story even publishes!

It was definitely this man’s unlocky day.

That’s just putting safe driving over pure component wear. Which is not a bad tradeoff at all. Your dad was right, from the perspective of good driving.

I’m old enough to remember when this was called Ghost Riding.

Like any other luxury vehicles, it will become a maintenance nightmare once the warranty expires. Coincidentally, it is also when they will become attainable.

WRONG!

Tesla is known as a revolving door in engineering circles.

What they really need to do is poach a lot of production engineering talent already in the US. Their production line reeks of amateurism and mistakes that the automotive IE world has ironed out decades ago.

Hot take:

Modern racing is boring as shit and goes on forever. Bring on the thousand horsepower electric rally time trials!

Pikes Peak is PERFECT for electric cars: Short distance is clearly within range limitations, tight turns leverage instant torque, elevation gains and reduced oxygen are irrelevant.

I plan to keep my 535D when the warranty ends - at which point it will be paid off. Bought it CPO for $30k+ off the original price. Sure there’s a risk of expensive repairs but even if I spend $12k over the following 3 years, that’s still much less than the $38,176 I was quoted to lease a comparable new 540D

Forgot to list but assumed it was obvious, also always have at least two full 5 gallon fuel jugs and then forget about them. You’ll thank yourself if you need them later, or you could help get someone else out of a bind.

Awesome. I figured your friend who needed to be picked up would have an effect on your timeline, but if you can make it all happen, that’s perfect. Have a great trip! When do you go?
