I apologize if this has already been answered, but how were firmware updates not automatic enough? As soon as you tried to jump online or go to the PS Store, you'd be prompted to update. Auto downloads of game patches and subscription content, sure. But firmware?

It always interests me when I hear or read about parents who strictly enforce parental controls on gaming. Growing up, I was allowed to play whatever game I wanted, and I even remember my dad bringing home MK3 for me to play. Perhaps this was because my parents simply didn't understand the medium, like many parents…
