“Different Face Syndrome” happens mostly when faces need to be drawn in crappy angles. The artist doing his work digitally or traditionally also factors in a bit (If a traditional one fucks up, it takes a lot of time to fix it, which he might not have).

If you’re a professional artists who suffers from this, you can never work at, let’s say Marvel/DC/AAA-game company. Even though the rest of your skills might be topnotch, you WILL get burned very easily once said company sees the problem. You might not get fired, but you need to learn how to draw other types of faces…

Eliminating unique facial characteristics, expecially in characters where they are very pronounced just make me pissed as an artist myself. Really, people who can only draw the same generic face should go into a self-induced exile until they learn how to do that shit correctly

As an artist, I usually practice character’s faces before making the final image they’re on. The one that always pisses me off is the generic looking Symmetra. It REALLY isn’t that hard to make the eyebrows a bit thicker and the nose somewhat curved, people!
