It’s a fantastic movie!

The very private, excruciating moments of being an unpopular seventh grader never really stop being real, but I have never witnessed a depiction as deep and true as PEN15.

I made my daughter see it with me. She watched a lot of it between her fingers (as did I) but at the end she said, “That’s it. That’s exactly what it’s like.” I loved every cringy minute of it.

I know!  I loved that episode.  And it’s so sad because I know that some people are actually going to be surprised by that episode or think that it’s just “over the top”or exaggerated.

EXACTLY.

Thanks for the heads up! Going to listen now. I love these two. And yeah, how cool is that about her dad?

It’s about time that this horrific period in life is being portrayed from a girl’s perspective. I fucking love this show so much because yeah, yeah, we get it, some boys get spontaneous boners and obsessively masturbate when they hit puberty. Sex ed for middle schoolers includes boys get boners! They have wet dreams!

YES to this. I’m a patient escort at a women’s health clinic and just last weekend a few of us were talking about doing this. It started because the partner of a woman inside the clinic stepped outside for a smoke and he glanced over at the antis and all of their props and signs from hell. He walked over to them and

I saw this today on the train and I’m still laughing.

I completely forgot about her character but you’re right.  The frazzled, doing 1 million things at once, having to be the only source of sanity and control in the family schtick is right on.

Sure, safety is often times the reason behind it, but it doesn’t have to be. I’m an in-house employment lawyer for a national company and was an employment litigator for years before this gig and employers have many arbitrary rules and regs that have nothing to do with safety and, for the most part, unless they

YES. I just came here to write this. I’m a mom who stopped drinking 5 years ago, and back when my kids were younger and I was forced to hang out with other moms, they would look at me like I had 3 heads when I would decline an offer of wine. The responses were fantastic. They were speechless. “Wait...what? You’re

Employers routinely drug screen potential new hires and rescind job offers if the test comes back positive for marijuana, even though marijuana may be legal in the particular state in which the position is located. Employers’ policy handbooks routinely include legal activity as a grounds for discipline and/or

So I’m a current clinic escort and was also one in 1991-92 (and I can’t believe I still have to do this shit) and I agree about the counter-protests just adding to the chaos. When patients pull up to the curb in front of the clinic or pull into the clinic’s parking lot, they aren’t expecting anyone to be out there,

I’m a couple of days late to this but I gasped as I read it. Atty-client privilege is such a sacred tenet, I just can’t believe he would do this. This guy used to be THE defense attorney to hire in Chicago and I’m so incredibly disappointed/enraged.  Also, way to take the entire profession down with you, Ed.  Thanks a

Same. What a shit show that was.

Exactly.  It’s a matter of striking a balance.

Agreed. I’m in law and the same applies here. Yes, in my experience it is absolutely true that my delivery has to be more “sweethearted” than my peers who are men. However, it is also absolutely true that my direct reports are far more productive, motivated, and prideful of their work if I am, you know, a human being

You and me both.

I’ve taken myself to surf camp in Costa Rica 3 times - alone - and I had the best trips ever! It’s a fantastic place to go alone because there are a lot of solo travelers there, especially from Europe. The people are really friendly and I felt safe each trip I took.  I’m a single parent and I also took my teens there
