“What people are lamenting here is not that they have to pay money to access content, but that they have to pay excessive amounts of money to play a game that they’ve already paid money to play.”
“What people are lamenting here is not that they have to pay money to access content, but that they have to pay excessive amounts of money to play a game that they’ve already paid money to play.”
a lot of that is streamers paying with real money because the content makes them money (see: Achievement hunter). That said, it’s still a free to play game that gets content added almost on a monthly basis, and free expansions. That’s not just keeping the servers alive, that’s dev teams iterating and creating entirely…
It’s a game with free updates that come in regularly. They have to make money somehow since nobody is buying new copies of GTA5 at this point.
Counterpoint: No, he doesn’t. He’s a genuinely good person who is imperfect, like everyone is, but is actually willing to learn and grow.
Look at all the excuses people are coming up with in this comment section... On kotaku which is part of a progressive online media network.
It’s disgusting how dumb and/or closeted racist a lot of people are.
To those commenters: So your objection to this emote being banned by one fed up guy is that the racist little…
Lol people trying to dismiss this as “grievance studies”. Boy, I wonder what side of the line you guys fall on. Keep it up. Keep pretending like “it’s just a joke!” makes it completely free of racist impact. For your next trick, maybe you can start question things like “hey, what’s the matter with saying 88 a lot?…
And of course, research has shown that “just a joke!” isn’t actually a thing:
There is no difference between “Actually racist” and “just being racist for a reaction”.
Yes, but the fact that the arbiter of law is the government does not make enforcement of a dispute between two private entities a first amendment matter. Literally no one else is allowed to apply enforcement of law.
It didn't.
“Breathless defense” is overstating it - they’re mostly two- or three-word contradictions. Like the paid arguer in that Monty Python sketch.
So what do you call the segment of a movie between two cuts in a 3D animated film? If that’s not a “shot” then your semantics are important because you have to invent some new term fresh out of the mind of Puddinghead to call this thing which isn’t a shot because you don’t want to acknowledge a fully CG shot is still…
no, I double checked and they are
“For me[...] When I hear a story of someone who “got that shot,” it’s stories of dangling from rafters or rushing a scene”
Haha, No. The cinematographer and director are still responsible for crafting shots even if there is CG.* The scene was 100% choreographed to look that way. It’s just harder because you have to choreograph “blind” through the viewfinder unless you have an onset previz match moving system (but that’s very rare).
…
Calm down, Zach.
Aren’t all his movies a fuck you to the people that watch them?
i don’t disagree, but also a good shot =\= a difficult one.
His point is more that the older generations are much more prone to not changing their minds and would prefer to be in their echo chamber, which is exactly how people manipulate the internet to their advantage. So wasting your time with them isn’t worth it compared to generations that have grown up using the internet…
You know what would REALLY help? If players showed some solidarity with the people who make the games they love and stopped playing League of Legends until Riot gets their act together. They’re sitting on disgusting amounts of eSports money that they’ve made off of their mistreated and exploited workers.
