Yeah, I didn’t play Unity until about a year after release, once all the bugs had been patched, and it was just dandy. Sure, the story was a bit on the slight side, but the city itself was astounding. Im still impressed with some of the crowd settings. Subsequent games have almost felt underpopulated in comparison.

I heard Jordan speak at ComicCon a few years ago, after he’d written it, but before it had been financed. You could tell it was a pretty personal story for him, that he wasn’t entirely sure the audience would connect with (obviously, he was underestimating himself).

The studio that made it absolutely had a lack of confidence in it. Netflix just knew they could use it as a promotional gimmick, not because they thought it was good.
