Yeah, the “offer he couldn’t refuse” bit had me rolling. If someone asked me to be beaten to a pulp on TV, I could very easily refuse.

Hmm, I stopped playing this months ago, but may dip back in...

1. They approached HIM!

Seems like when offered a sure fire ass kicking, it’s foolish NOT to refuse.

Her lack of a soul probably means she just doesn’t care. I doubt she even knows the word “empathy.”

Hope! He doesn’t get anywhere near the goddamned White House.

Because she lives by the adage about bad publicity.

Advertiser ARE opting out of paying people who’s videos include material they don’t want associated their product. What are you even trying to say??? Videos aren’t being removed - your statement makes no sense (and that’s not even counting spelling).

So, another entitled person who thinks they deserve their entertainment for free. And you say it like its a good thing.

No one is responsible for your unrealistic expectations but you.

Well, being that YouTube is YouTube, doing what’s right for YouTube seems pretty logical. Its a business, not a public service.

It is an interesting dichotomy - but the power, and final say, still rests with Youtube.

I agree that the way this operates need to be clarified and codified so that people know where the boundaries are.

Corporations making decisions to ensure their bottom line is being grown up. Saying “they shouldn’t have a say in which videos their ads - which they PAY FOR - run with, because internet, wheee!” is very much not.

Sure, we’ll just pretend this is happening to all video, because that the only way this comment makes sense.

No one forced removal of content, just the ability to tie ads to them... so you’re complaining about an imaginary thing. Did you read the whole thing, or just the headline??

Well, I get that those are concerns, and should be clarified for all parties. But that’s a matter of time, and working out kinks, hopefully. The general idea, that they have to follow the rules if they want to be paid, isn’t beyond the pail.

They should be clear in their guildlines, yes. That will come with time. But the general point still stands.

All forms of advertiser-driven media have to be cognizant of whether or not advertisers will want their products associated with the content.

Even with the Netflix deal, they’re going to preserve the sell through window for new releases, so I wouldn’t expect Civil War until probably January at the earliest (they won’t want to cut into Christmas sales).
