Can you guys just go full bore and get a ‘POLITICAL’ page (Polimodo?) and move all this stuff over to it? I’m so tired of surfing to Gizmodo to look at tech news or Lifehacker to look at cool tips, tricks, and recipes, and getting politics. Seems to be unanimously FLAC (I’m a big fan of FLAC myself and recommend it). Just keep in mind that FLAC, since it’s lossless, is big. Off the top of my head, songs are, on average, around 20-30MB each. Think of it as being a zip file. It’s lossless because it can be reconstructed when played/read.

Start at FLAC. Convert it to whatever works on your phone/PMP. On iOS that would be AAC (you could convert to ALAC but odds are you won’t notice the quality difference) and on Android you can use OGG or the superior Opus but the latter requires a player that supports it. It’s only supported for videos oddly enough…

I only download FLAC. It’s lossless, so you can convert to any other lossless format without losing quality, even formats that don’t yet exist.
