Oh my god yes. WAH is, legitimately, my favourite film.

“as Fallon noted, the only SNL alum to ever be nominated for a lead acting Oscar”
Obviously it won’t make Endgame money, but I’d be absolutely shocked if Black Widow wasn’t a billion dollar grosser. MCU fans have been literally asking for it for almost a decade, it’s likely the last chance to see SJ, the most bankable actress in the world, in her most famous role, plus it’ll make mad bank off of…
Remains my favourite film of all time. Not a single frame is wasted or out of place. A work of absolute perfection.
I’d argue that none of those are true concept records. They all contain one long, multi-sectioned story-based concept piece, but they also all have a second side that’s essentially unrelated (The Trees adds nothing to the Cygnus X-1 story, for instance).
Hard not to stump for Ziggy Stardust (or any of Bowie’s concept albums), but in recent times I’m loving The Hazards Of Love by The Decemberists.
Kudos for being the first list I’ve seen that includes Blackstar.
Love to see support for Dawn of the Apes. It’s a legitimately great movie, and Andy Serkis performance should’ve been the one that broke the Oscar barrier for mo-cap - at least a nomination.
Not shocked, as they’re both films with their detractors, but I would’ve worked Black Swan and/or Gravity in there somewhere.
What of the Misdirectiony Scene Not Actually Appearing In The Film trope?
Welcome news. The lack of any Ant/Wasp mention in the phase four & five reveals had me wondering if they had decided to relegate them to recurring/supporting status in team-ups.
I’ve argued before that the first nine episodes of season two are the equal of most anything in season one. There’s four absolutely killer Lynch directed episodes in that stretch, including an all-timer in Lonely Souls (the one where Maddie goes home to Missoula Montana). Plus the Audrey rescue from One Eyed Jacks,…
Hawkeye also has kids. But yeah, my pick would also be Scott and Cassie, specifically the first scene of them “adventuring”.
I’m somewhat disappointed, given the quantum possibilities for time travel, that there’s no confirmed Young Peggy Carter in Endgame.
I will now forever imagine the existence, somewhere, of a non-union foreign knock-off VHS copy of Ghosterbusters II.
Yeah! Be willing to listen to kids who’ve been molested! Let THEM define the experience! But not these kids who are totally lying and aren’t REAL victims!
Crüe were objectively shitty, there’s no question, but goddamn Dr Feelgood is a great rhythm section groove that I will unapologetically stump for until the end of my days.
In my all-time top five, up there with Twin Peaks and Breaking Bad.
I could be way out in left field here, but I kinda feel like Black Panther 2 is a pretty safe billion dollar bet. GOTG 3, Capt Marvel 2 as well. Doc Strange 2, Black Widow, and Ant-Wasp 3 should all land north of 800 million. And then there’s however they choose to fold the X-Men in.
Covenant and Prometheus were both so, so frustrating. Wasted opportunities that hamstring whatever interesting notions they bring to the story by having characters behave like idiots, inexplicably, at every turn.
