Seriously. I had to explain to a very close friend that her ability to choose not to eat certain foods is a very privileged position. “I don’t eat that.” doesn’t exist when you don’t eat often.  For people who see themselves as generally thoughtful and considerate, its not an easy conversation.

You keep saying you made one joke. You made two separate statements. One, a fairly innocent sarcastic jab. The other, a statement resembling a fairly debunked common argument most people make against plant based diets. No outrage here. Seriously. I don’t have a dog in the race, I just hate inaccuracy.

Are they new vegans? Most vocal vegans I know are pretty new to it, like they’re still convincing themselves its a good idea.

We get more protein than we need on a regular basis.  If you eat a balanced diet, you can get the necessary amount even before you add meat.  Not sure why everyone assumes we need so much.

See, on my side, this isn’t an argument. It’s a debate. And debate on both sides needs to be supported by evidence. I will go through your last post point by point and for me that’s the end of it.
