Yeah, I totally thought Hawkeye was doomed and all the foreshadowing was meant to soften the blow. I, also, did not see that coming.....

Quicksilver is so awesome and so under-utilized in both of his big screen appearances.

Also the “it” Hill referred to is Loki’s staff....

Dr. List (Liszt?) was there, also I think Maria Hill was meant to be that bridge, since apparently Whedon put his foot down about bringing Coulson back. To be honest, they could have worked some more from the show in if they wanted to, I think. Like just cameos for the team during the last time we see Fury in the film.

Oh for Christ’s sake, it’s not because she’s a woman, but because she has been “in the game” for longer than any of them. It’s about what a “normal” life like Hawkeye’s represents to her and that it was not her choice to not have children.

What part of this epic felt like going through the motions? I agree he’s likely burned out, but he executed this triple-fucking-lutz expertly.

I say right after they get to Hawkeye’s “safehouse.” You’ll know it when you see it. There’s a bit of a character reveal there about Hawk, but then it’s that leaked scene of Cap and Tony talking, which is a perfect amount of time for whiz.

Great review. I think the first Avengers was definitely the “better” movie, because AoU is really only spectacular as the culmination of everything they’ve been building to. Although, I thought all of the connections to other Marvel properties were paid off well. There was no Daredevil drinking a latte, but just

.

When I was about five or six, I still remember breaking down into the saddest tears ever when I found out we couldn’t really travel in space like on Star Trek and Star Wars. Holy goddamn Christ I want warp drive to work....

Whoa! I almost cut myself on your edge there.

Homage and rip-off are two different things.

I was just thinking the same thing. Other than the kind-of-pointless Khan misdirect, I thought it was a solid flick that served to further create the different-but-the-same feel that this new Trek universe has.

Avengers is dope and breaks record, but don't think for a second that more people will go see that than Star Wars.

Dude, it's the set where Qui-Gon and Maul fight.

You misspelled "feelings."

He's a goddamn national treasure.

Now playing

Oh wow, get ready to have your universe rocked all the way to Life Day....

And the award for best gif ever goes to this one.

You misspelled "Cesar Romero"

You misspelled "Jack Nicholson."
