They said that they plan to make a platform where they can change body shells easily, so I assume that it's a custom platform. Maybe they used a CLS for the prototype but I doubt it. As another person mentioned, it's too expensive of a base to start with, the CLS alone already costs $60k.

If you've been to China and talk to locals (basically any part) it'll become apparent that most of the government is corrupt (local more noticeably, central isn't as noticeable). People realize it, but there's not much they can do about it. Basically it takes the media to report it and then with ensuing public outrage

Normally we think battery swapping as an outrageous idea, but in racing it makes perfect sense, since you will have people in the pits switching tires and such, so I imagine it will most definitely be a battery swap if this race series happens.

Doesn't make sense to charge that much, are you sure about the price quoted. Isn't their Model S sedan going to be only $60k?

Looks nice, but I don't see how they will be able to get it to be much cheaper than the Roadster. The Europa is a more expensive platform and they are aiming for around the same range.

Eh, if you read the whole post rather than just little snips of it you would see overall she realizes the review on the whole was postive (just by virtue of being able to impress Clarkson in the start), she even mentions it in the start before talking about the little issues. It's far from as defensive as these snips

14 is not bad either way. That Tesla had the older transmission locked into 2nd gear.
