Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any pictures in there, but with a quick Google search I found this, which aren't the pictures the developers took, but it's a good comparison.
Don't worry, you only get to fight the pictured spider for 3 times in the game. You do get however to fight the smaller spiders you could find in DA:O.
Has this been done for Assassin's Creed? Sure, for most of the time, Assassin's Creed takes place many years before 2011, so it's obviously going to be a lot different, but it would be interesting to see how landmarks that still exist look in-game.

My university is in MSDNAA which allows me to get Microsoft software for free (including Windows 7 Professional and Visual Studio 2010, but excluding Office). I am studying computer science, and I think that only CS students have access to MSDNAA.
