@lordargent: This is interesting. It could be modified to show the number of new notifications/messages. Too bad I don't have the necessary knowledge/experience to build that :(

@Insecur1tyGuard: Well, as far as I know, this is the simplest way to do it, so, why not?
@RunRabbitJunk: I'm looking into alternative ways for detecting new messages, to overcome the limitations. So far, I have thought of something, but if I do it that way, it's not possible to know when the message has been read, which means that the new message LED will have to stop blinking after a specific interval,…
@bdinger: Thanks! :)
@theminimalist: Looks like it!
Thank you Lifehacker for publishing my instructable :D
@Joseph Garza: I'm the one who made this, and unfortunately, I don't have a smartphone :(
@Arken: It would be cool, but it would also be hard to do, since you'd probably need to make drivers for it, and I guess it would also need a microcontroller.
@TTownTerrorist: Why wouldn't you want to put a parallel port in your computer (unless you don't want to spend the money to buy a controller, or you don't have a free PCI slot)?
@Arken: My computer didn't, so I had to buy a PCI-to-parallel controller to build this.
@jethro1138: But do they ship the phone outside the US?
I believe this only applies for the US, right?
Why only 15 FPS?
@Cogito Ergo Bibo: Why don't you use an extension cable? I've got a Kodak Zi8 and that's what I do.
Too bad this seems to be version 1.6 :(
I don't understand what's the deal with tethering.
Why can't I "like" this article? Is it because it is from Wired?
I really hope that they will support worldwide shipping now!
@positronic: Won't the volume control on your TV's remote also control the volume of the headphone output?
@Skid-Vicious: You can download the third platform preview from here: [ie.microsoft.com]
