Another pretty shitty thing about prison labor, the off-site type in specific, is that it drives down pay for or eliminates jobs that get replaced by prison labor. I had a pretty hard, but rewarding and fun, job planting trees for a land trust in the PNW when I was younger reforesting the banks of a major river.

I’d

The name and premise sounded too forced and wacky for me and I skipped it until recently. Now two seasons in, I find out that it is about as unforced and unwacky as you can get.

Canadian art subsidies go a long way.

I’m pretty sure that was the real Tate in the Wrecking Crew excerpt.

Not really. Margot Robbie’s Sharon Tate watched the real Sharon Tate in that theater so I have a feeling Tarentino would do the same sort of thing with Dean Martin.

I would kill for a video game character like this

I stuttered out halfway through season two. I really like Tulip and Cassidy, but despite my very personal reasons for enjoying anything that sends up the church + solid performances, count me as another who just couldn’t find anything compelling enough to keep watching. I guess I’m just not that interested in Jesse.

That’s about as much investment as Rogen and company seem to have in their characters, too. They seem to have latched onto Garth Ennis’ comics as properties to develop for tv mostly out of fondness for his juvenile, gleefully offensive shtick.

I bought CIV6 on switch. It’s the best thing to kill time on my 2 hour commute in the bus everyday. I can play anytime I want , anywhere I want, on the bus stop, before going to bed, In the bus, while on a road trip while my wife drives. Sitting on the toilet...

I mean, they could port The Sims Mobile (I joke but you know that’s the one they would go with)

To be honest its just the way THEY do Switch versions, which is usually least possible effort

As someone with a slightly different spelling of a common name, I sympathize.

I don’t wanna be snarky or mocking, but let’s be frank:

I’m all for having variety in our candidates and seeing what shakes out.

But I can spot about ten folks who aren’t going to “shake out”.

I mean, it’s much more nuanced than that. Especially considering the audience. These types of viewers and the relationships built around it us purely parasocial. Her being some young girl ready to be exploited through financial transaction, is apart of the fantasy of that relationship.

The veil is off of course, but

I loved Flaca and Nicky running the kitchen and the covert immigrant aid program together, having taken over for their prison mothers Gloria and Red.

He seems to often have only a few mains carry over, and the rest will show up in guest appearances, if I can trust my memory.

Lukewarm take: Top Gun, the original, was vastly overrated. While many recognized it for being trope-y, shallow, and over-the-top even when it was released in 1986, watched today it’s practically a comedic parody, with many parts being unintentionally funny and flat out ridiculous.

I’ll be impressed when he keeps it running on a computer for 45 years to complete it in real time.

Honestly, Piper and Alex have an incredibly toxic relationship and I very much found myself disappointed in her visiting Alex like that, instead of getting into a relationship with Zelda.
