Yes, true. I live in Ireland and the political system here is modeled on the UK system. Essentially, we can vote “no confidence” in the sitting government and call for a general election at any time if we are dissatisfied.

This is how I feel. It astounds me that there are people who think this way. Like, is this really the hill you want to die on? Thankfully I live overseas now and have EU citizenship so I never have to go back if I don’t want to.

As a Michigan native, I can confirm this is true. The Coast Guard does look after the Great Lakes and is valuable to us. In a town near my home town, they hold a Coast Guard festival every year.
