I applaud her courage and strength. But it's important to note that she didn't have to forgive him to be a good person. Forgiveness doesn't make anyone a better person, morally, than people who don't forgive — and if you're in a position like this, you should make whatever choice is right for you and your own recovery.

2nd reply, sorry. But as you said it's all about immersion, including decisions, interactions, world building, "set pieces", and a living world. So I'm going to take some time to shamelessly plug what I think is Game of the year so far.

Actually you're right, and I don't think it's pedantic. ME is indeed not an FPS. I meant a real RPG with guns that're over the shoulder. Or something like that. Though Fallout 3 is a real fps rpg, to me at least.

"LISTEN UP RECRUITS, SIR ISAAC NEWTON IS THE DEADLIEST SON OF A BITCH IN SPACE."

I don't agree with her on most of the things, her videos aren't that great. They DO have good points thou.

man, as much as i want something new to play, and as big a fan as i've always been of Halo and borderlands, i simply can not get over how boring and bland this game seems. :(

You see what you want to see... I just see stars.

What drove Gamergate is gamers feeling they found clear reasons for journalist and bloggers to lose the moral authority that they have been asserting for a few years now. Lots of people who support it feel some type of way about different things, but I think that's what drove it. Gamers have been given the impression

You had me at Dan Abnett. God amongst Black Library writers. Let us keep him safe from the foul Gotto and The Great Defiler of Canon; Ward. So that he may continue to produce Eissenhorn along with The Blessed Mitchell's Cain Archives and whatever ultrasmurf nonsense McNiell likes to write.

There's a degree of truth to this. This has been an issue between two sides who both forget the fact there's a vast ocean of people in between them who don't even know this issue has existed, because they don't even read video game websites or have twitter accounts. they just...play video games.

I think the discussion about casual cruelty against women is a symptom of a greater issue - taking the easy route in creative work.

Seem? Certain people? I got news for you. Saying, "maybe women should form their own studio and make their pink games for girls" doesn't seem sexist to certain people. It is sexist as an objective fact. You imply that women should be segregated into their own studio because they and what they want are not "main

good thing literally no one's calling for censorship

No one is advocating removing all violence directed towards women from all games. That's pretty much a strawman position that people who don't want anything to change use to rail against.

The people getting mad and/or surprised at Joss Whedon aligning himself with feminism have been endlessly amusing to me.

Yes, I thought they were going that direction as well, but they went back to the cult and town backstory with 3 and Origins and Homecoming. Hopefully Downpour represents that we're going back to the idea of individual Silent Hill experiences. I think the title of the new one does seem to imply that.

It pretty much sums up my reaction after playing Homecoming, but it only happened in my mind and took about a split second. Then again, I have yet to play a Silent Hill game, that is not at least "decent" or "better than many games on the market". It's really hard to live up to the expectations created by Silent Hill
