I think the discussion about casual cruelty against women is a symptom of a greater issue - taking the easy route in creative work.

Seem? Certain people? I got news for you. Saying, "maybe women should form their own studio and make their pink games for girls" doesn't seem sexist to certain people. It is sexist as an objective fact. You imply that women should be segregated into their own studio because they and what they want are not "main…
good thing literally no one's calling for censorship
No one is advocating removing all violence directed towards women from all games. That's pretty much a strawman position that people who don't want anything to change use to rail against.
The people getting mad and/or surprised at Joss Whedon aligning himself with feminism have been endlessly amusing to me.
Violence against women is an ugly reality that's all too common, no matter what walk of life people come from.…
That was awwwwww inspiring.
Yes, I thought they were going that direction as well, but they went back to the cult and town backstory with 3 and Origins and Homecoming. Hopefully Downpour represents that we're going back to the idea of individual Silent Hill experiences. I think the title of the new one does seem to imply that.
It pretty much sums up my reaction after playing Homecoming, but it only happened in my mind and took about a split second. Then again, I have yet to play a Silent Hill game, that is not at least "decent" or "better than many games on the market". It's really hard to live up to the expectations created by Silent Hill…
Please, don't mix Pyramid Head into this. He has nothing to do with Silent Hill. Not in a way everyone is making him do. He's the punisher in James Sunderland's head. His appearance in Homecoming and in the movie was a big mistake. And please, no more sexy deformed nurses. It's all related to James in SH2. They all…
Life isn't just dangerous for a person made entirely out of balloons; it's also lonely. Wandering the streets of a…
Maybe we should go back to fighting aliens.
I'm hoping to land directorial duties on the Squadron Supreme movie.
I saw the episode, loved it, and was with all the other reviews today on talking about how this was a great episode, but your review challenged my opinion on it. It's a very valid point that I didn't know about, and definitely makes me approach it differently. I don't think it changed my opinion of the episode…
Well, since you asked...
I disagree. Do you report every time there is a major change in a hero's identity or team roster? Didn't Charles Xavier and cyclops have a massive good guy bad guy role reversal recently? Kitty pryde welded herself to a magical planet sized bullet and then shot out of the marvel verse. And then she came back. This…
The best, easiest way to handle these various tensions is for Bill to develop some kind of overweening, monstrous lust for Virginia - with him longing for what he can never actually achieve. Such unfulfilled longing would go a long way toward both explaining and forgiving his many defects as a person.
They really need to get Bill back into his underdog scientist role stat. He's such a monster that it's making the show almost unwatchable for me. He makes Don Draper look like a freakin' saint. They need to get something going to balance out his personality, I can handle flawed characters, but there has to be at…

I do care a little, being a politically minded Californian (who thinks this is a really bad idea) but I'm not too worried about it for the following reasons.
