If you wanna talk ‘Joy of Movement’ you really need to have Prototype on that list.

There’s a real simple way of making sonic work in 3D. Start with the movement controls of Prototype, especially the game’s auto action for hurtling obstacles, and the add in an e-brake equivalent like grabbing the ground to make drift turns at speed.
I’m not making an argument for expendable talent, I’m saying these are the norms within game development that are going to have to be overcome to institute the unionization that the practice so desperately needs. I certainly could have used it before I burnt out.
Comparatively dude. COMPARATIVELY. If you’re glong to assemble planes or remove organs you need some serious training. Comparatively all that games needs for a number of the disciplines can be found on message boards.
Part of the reason why they haven’t is that a large number of developers are self-driven, technically-minded problem solvers. That sort of mechanical thinking lends itself toward self reliance fantasies or libertarianism. When I was still in dev you’d occasionally hear someone mumble about unionizing during a bad…
Just reminds me that Mega Man Legends is never coming back...
