Oh it's not, it's distinctly how the game is made and is played. Saying it's bad for those reasons would be like saying madden is bad because there are passes and touchdowns (these are actual reasons I dont like madden but not reasons why the game itself is bad).

Has anyone else here realized that World of Warcraft is a MARCHING BAND SIMULATOR? I am dead serious about this, and it takes very little imagination to see what I'm pointing at. Follow me if you will, on a magical adventure into abstract game design *magic wind sound*

That's a good possibility, and as Imercenary pointed out MS is charging a subscription fee for access to the service as well, so where is that money going?

That's right, I had forgotten about the subscription fees. What the hell?

I'll give you that point, it's a well made one, but 90% profit? maybe 50, or 60 at the high end.

(PC Gaming Master Race Voice) Yes, quite.

Are you kidding? That's a great head! Look at the facial expressions it can make, look at that precisely coiffed hair! I would kill for hair like that!

A lot of it likely goes to the infrastructure necessary to deliver that patch to the players who are hungry to download it. Just like getting a game up and running is expensive, so are the pipes and servers and engineers that send it out.

I don't ever recall it being hip to play a Bethesda game. I really don't recall any game being hip if we're going to put the cards on the table...

I can understand that line of thinking, I mean when you get right down to it, it is still Kotaku, it is still all the news I love. I just got my hopes up. I'm a visual designer by trade and exciting artistic choices tend to do that to me.

Ah, you are quite right, sorry about that. Is that still happening in this brave new old world?

I was always under the impression that the speak up topic was a starter, and other conversations were welcome. Was I wrong?

Ok so I think I was one of the VERY few people that was actually looking forward to the new Kotaku TV style programming, and while there is a pretty clear break for where Kotaku East started up, I think I'm a little let down in the presentation department. In the announcement there were these fantastic logos for each

Ha, back in high school I used a tampon casing to make a fake silencer for a water pistol. Once someone realized what it used to be they flipped out. I didnt care personally. The whole incident made no sense to me at the time but I guess it wasn't so strange if people have been known to treat feminine hygiene products

Yeah, it hasnt happened yet, but it happens all the time on my face. I'm adopted so I dont know where I'm getting it from...

This is an awesome suggestion thanks!

I'm not just the president, I'm also a member.

You dont have to have this game. You're talking like the fact that this game even exists constitues a mugging. Do you feel irrationally compelled to purchase games with queer/ethnic casts?

No no! I have to. It's a goddamned jungle down there. It was one thing to look at and say, "I dont like it but eh, who cares" when I was single, but I'm not anymore. I need to start thinking about this stuff, for my girl friend's sake if not my own.

I love articles like these, mostly for the comments that follow. You learn a lot by reading them over. I tend to just let everything grow, but now that I'm in a relationship maintenance has been on my mind. I dont want to be the ass that hopes she keeps things neat and then be the one to show up to the party with a
