I dont want to give the impression that I hate Infamous, or that I prefer Prototype over it. I've never had the opportunity to play it directly myself. I do however love Prototype for it's movement scheme.

It's very clear to me that we're arguing at cross purposes about two very different topics.

Well that's good. The second issue I raise was one a friend ran into on the first game. We refer to this as the "MP Gift" issue, based on Kingdom Hearts. In KH your team (Goofy/Donald) were virtually useless until the late final third of the game. Suddenly Goofy get's MP Gift and he can suddenly subsidize Donald's

Well that's an improvement, though I'd still like it faster.

PreOrder incentives are always there later, they just transform into DLC giving you the opportunity to decide if something truly merits your money.

Yessssssss.

Well in the sequel you aren't playing as the dick. You can also be rewarded for not eating civies and keeping collateral damage to a minimum.

This is an absolute day one purchase for me. I've been eagerly awaiting it. I'm not super interested in the plot or the quests. I just want to see how they've refined the movement, which was one of the most freeing ways to haul ass around I've ever gotten my hands on.

Yeah the plot was threadbare, the lines were dick punchingly bad, and Alex Mercer as a scientist was about as believable as me winning a triathlon, BUT, the voice actors actually did deliver those lines pretty well.

Not really. You're being asked to maneuver deftly through a course you haven't memorized (or even seen) with imperfect controls.

Now playing

I've exaggerated nothing Famoustrip. Jacobgermain wasn't talking about adding in a new enemy with a limited set of animations, he was talking about adding in a completely new player character, which, in Amalur has a wide variety of movements and actions, both combat and non. I explained to you before what happens when

And as I said, don't. I understand where you're coming from and you dont have to care about anyone but you. That's fine. Yes, you are paying a cost as a customer, but seeing as the game isnt even out yet you havent paid a dime yet, and if you're this upset you clearly wont. Of course if you've pre-ordered the game

Thank you for that.

And I would also like to apologize for being so curt to you earlier. It easy to assume everyone you're speaking to on the internet is ignorent of what you might personally know. This is a good reminder to me that it's not always the case.

Ah yes, now I see what you're talking about, and it's good to know where you're coming from on this. Yeah I'm talking purely from an animation perspective. My background is in art and design, and I agree that it's possible to programmatically do just about anything. You just need to account for it ahead of time so

Uh, the topic was Amalur, and it was in regards to a wizard having the same physique as a warrior, and why couldn't a separate model have been made. Where are you pulling Skyrim from?

No, I'm sorry, you've made your position clear, I understand it. I dont agree with it, and frankly I find large portions of it reprehensible.

This was a reasoned and well thought out response, thanks. There's always a cost and if the developer decides to spend those resources on other aspects of the game, well that's that. As consumers we can decide that it's a breaking point for us, or we can write them with some suggestions for the sequel.

I love that you put real world limitations in quotes. That made my morning. Ok then vote with your dollar, but trust me, your "respect" isn't something a game developer needs.

"No, you're wrong." I'm sorry, but based on what? I'm thinking of the animation rig which has to be hand tuned to fit the model involved. If you simply try and scale the rig to fit the model the weighting is thrown off and that's when you get scenarios like Nope.avi. Assuming things like walk animations are simple to
