You think Trump hasn’t pulled that shit on women of color? He’s admitting to outright sexual assault. Yes, more people should be outraged by his racist remarks, but this is pretty damn important.

It’s a good point, but nah. If we’re being real here, this is just about the word pussy. If he said grab them by the ass, or the tit, he would have been shamed, but not like this. Our puritan Christian ears can’t handle the word pussy. That’s a word for porn stars and atheists.
No, Trump’s been insulting conventionally attractive white women for years and almost constantly throughout his campaign. What’s new is that he’s admitted to physical assault and using his status to escape punishment for that violent crime. Men sexual assaulting women isn’t just an “insult”. It’s a violent attack.
Let me preface this with the obvious, I’ve been horrified all along, but I think there’s something about the combo of a) the graphic nature of the remarks plus b) the element of this being who he really is when he’s not in the spotlights, that’s just cannot be spun.
I love Aasif Mandvi, but ... c’mon, dude. Trump didn’t just “insult hot white women.” He bragged about committing serial sexual assault.
This. He’s already gone after black people, muslims, Mexicans, it was white women that was too far. If they leak footage of him calling black people the n-word, nobody would care.
Um, he’s bragging about committing sexual assault against actual human women. It is legit despicable.

In the context of Star Trek, at least at the time Gennerations was written, it does. That’s what I meant by Star Trek’s poor track record with LGBT issues. The series covers racism, sexism, religious oppression on both sides, class inequality, and any number of other important issues over the course of five series.…
I can see how it would bother him as someone who takes his craft seriously. After all, saying that the original Sulu was gay (or even that he should be interpreted as gay) because Takei is gay is only a few steps away from saying that gay actors should only play gay characters. Obviously that’s not being implied…
Same, I remember a quote from him saying the same thing, that Sulu was heterosexual and despite Takei being a gay man, he played a straight character and didn’t mind, but he hoped other new characters would be gay.
I find it interesting to see how many people seem to think that a gay person would be so unlikely produce a child. Some LGBT folks give cis a chance. Maybe because social pressure or maybe it takes them time to come to terms with or understand where they fall on that particular spectrum.
I thought it was pretty strange when I first heard it. Of course Takei is a well-known gay activist, but Trek is also pretty well-known for avoiding LGBT issues (at least in the main series), and Generations confirmed that the character had at least one heterosexual relationship and had a daughter.
