Ugh, you're right. I'm dumb.

I wouldn't say I'm defeatist so much as pragmatic. I do think voting reform is a possibility, but I don't think it's going to happen any time soon, especially with the historically-worst obstructionist Congress that we currently have. I think it's more productive to focus on more achievable goals like, as Tulsa said,…
Definitely agreed that gerrymandering need to go get fucked. That's what lets nutbars like Ted Cruz get elected.
I think we're just going to have to accept the fact that our election system is what it is, and it's not changing any time soon, at least on the national level (IIRC Maine has instituted or is planning to institute preferential voting for its state system).
Yeah, it would have to involve some sort of overhaul of the Electoral college, or at least a change to the number of EVs needed to win. I don't think it'll ever happen because it would have to be so wide-ranging.
Voting reform (to some sort of preferential voting style; I personally prefer instant runoff) is the only way to break out of a two-party system. In our current FPTP system, it's mathematically impossible to have more than two parties after any extended period of time.

Perfect. That's the best response possible. He's going to get destroyed over this.
His dyed-in-the-wool supporters don't matter. They eat up all his deplorability (deplorableness?), but there's not enough of them to win an election. It's the moderate/swing voters that are being turned off by this in droves, and that is what will lose him the election. Remember how he already had a problem with…

Oh, I didn't know Bat for Lashes had a new album out! I like her.
I have… not listened to anywhere near that many albums. What are some good ones not on my list?
I'm a big fan of Come Down too. The whole album is really good. It's most likely in my top five.
Oh, yeah. Go for Leithauser + Rostam then
Hm. If I had to pick 5: Michael Kiwanuka, Carly Rae Jensen, Dev Hynes, Young Thug, and… probably The Knocks.
Usually those comments do show up, just two or three days later when the article is linked on some weirdo alt-right or MRA site.

Sweet, that answered my question. I'll probably play it for the 14 days but won't commit to it.
No but this is the election that Ohio loses its bellwether status. Looks like NC will be the new Ohio.
