The UK & EU have very educated midwives that are more like nurse practitioners here in the US. In the US there are some of them, but the term midwives in the US could mean ‘educated capable medical professional’ or ‘hippie with a relaxation CD and some crystals’- you really can’t know until you know.

Let’s force low income women with unwanted pregnancies to have babies but then let’s take away their hospitals in which to have them!
