The Rip/Gideon situation in this ep was bizarre to me. I mean, even if she’s just a program, he and Gideon are a pair. It’s not quite Kirk/Enterprise, but it’s up there. He loves that ship. And he just mothballs her? I don’t buy it. Even for him, that’s cold and repressed.

I own Drive Angry just for William Fichtner’s scenes. I fast forward through everything else- sorry, Mr Cage!- and just enjoy Fichtner being so, so off-kilter and awesome. Some of the strangest line readings I’ve heard (of some of the worst lines, lordy) and yet he’s just endlessly fascinating.

remaining weary

I haven’t been watching the show, but reading the recaps every week has made it sound like a more gory, less fun Zoo. And sadly, I think I only have room in my heart for one awful, ridiculous show per summer.

Don’t forget Ripley. We get Sarah Connor and Ripley and... that’s it.

Yeah. It's a pity, because I'm usually a big fan of Marguerite Bennett's work, but this series just hasn't caught me. Kate seems off, and none of the supporting cast is that interesting.

That's honestly my only quibble with Heathen. Great characters, interesting ideas, solid art, but arrrrgh, why are they dressed like that?! So frustrating.
