Filing this under the “music I love, made by horrible people in real life” category. Their debut album and Atlas are pretty high up on my “favorite music from the past 10 years” list. Both are great, rainy day, late-fall listening pleasures - and much of the joy of it comes from Mondanile guitar work. Kudos to the

If the film was releasing in two or three weeks, I might abstain. But I’m not going to put myself through that. My policy is to avoid rumors and behind-the-scenes stuff, and watch the trailer.

The football fans are turning away from football and now the nerds are watching to get their nerdboners. What is happening in this country?

SPOILER ALERT:

I’m on Team Adam Driver on trailers for this... the Star Wars movies aren’t making a single extra dime off the trailers. If they just put out black screen with the release date on it, it’d sell just as many tickets and merch... maybe even more merch since people would be looking to that for spoilers/clues - and how

Jesus Christ, did Seinfeld double park someone at the AV Club or something? This is a fucking hatchet job.

I’m finding a lot to be desired in how modern liberalism is applied to art in general. There’s this borderline censorious, dogmatic, black-and-white “hot take” culture that everyone’s getting swallowed up by. It’s the same lack of nuance I used to see with conservatives who were outraged and totally out of their

The only shocking thing about this is that anybody is actually shocked about this.

May I make an attempt here? Wealth and power make you feel as if you’re insulated from real life stuff. Death, sickness, deprivation, small penises, the fact that your face looks like very old russet potato, etc. All that’s an illusion of course, and eventually you have to start doing things to maintain the illusion,

Harvey Weinstein seems like one of those old school Hollywood scumbags back when the days of the “casting couch” were more prevalent.  So I’m honestly surprised these allegations didn’t come out a decade or so ago.

When Johnny Cash covered “Southern Accent,” in liner notes he called it “better anthem for South than ‘Dixie’”. Considering source, that have to be highest possible praise in history of music, right?

Yeah, I get that too. But not enough to stop the greatness.

Damn Jonathan Demme because every time I hear American Girl I think about the poor young woman who is about to be kidnapped by Buffalo Bill.

And that’s too bad, because it’s a great song.

Tom Petty was always one of those effortlessly cool guys. He didn’t really have a persona or a gimmick, he was just himself and was awesome and didn’t even try.

This is the saddest I’ve been about a celebrity death since Carrie Fisher. I wish I could have seen him live.

RIP. Mr. Petty. I think your portrayal of Lucky on King of the Hill was under appreciated.

Rest in peace and thank you for being a large part of the playlist in my heart.

Can we just take a minute to admire just how beautiful Gillian still is? She’s like magic or something.

How about this: comedy Expendables. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Eddie Murphy, Chevy Chase, Goldie Hawn, Steve Martin, Martin Short, Tom Hanks, whoever else is still alive. They all have to go back to their old frat for some reason and teach the uptight millennials how to party like it’s 1981 and defeat the stuffy dean
