Wow, looks like this'll be my last Disqus post. I have to leave you all and hit the hay. May you all dream of that sweet Laurel Canyon sound….see you on the other side, friends.

Yeah…it's weird, I was feeling all melancholy, then I started thinking about how this was the main site I came to after Carrie Fisher died, and where will I go to talk about all my Star Wars feelings when Last Jedi comes out, and now I'm really fucking depressed.

…OF CUCK?

Seconded!

Dammit! *goes chasing after Paper Tiger with pants around ankles, trips.*

*rises slowly out of seat, begins slow clap…*

I came for the X-Files reviews with Todd and Zack, stayed for the (mostly) troll-free snark. I'm not a frequent commenter, but I pretty much come here for the comments because, like the good Councilman above, I don't have too many people in my life I can discuss pop culture with. You guys and gals have been awesome.

What if we all plan to meet up later on at an agreed-upon, snarky-pop-culture-filled location? Birth Movies Death? A lonesome subreddit out in the desert?

Man, I remember when I first moved to NYC, getting a new Village Voice on Wednesday, sitting in the cafe at the Astor Place Barnes and Noble circling job listings. I'm kind of surprised the print edition held on into the internet age as long as it has - the Voice used to be the place to go to know what was happening

I just came here to say that I love Mimi Pond.

Second that wish! Make it happen, Fantagraphics!!

I can't believe I feel this way about The X-Files, which, if I was forced to choose, I'd say is probably my favorite TV show of all time, but I honestly just don't care anymore. There are rumors that Veronica Cartwright's coming back, which is far more interesting than Barbara Hershey playing some random new

It wasn't just lack of skill, it was that whatever skill was required of him, he seemed to already possess. He'd realize that whatever level he was on was designed just like a video game he'd already mastered, or knowledge he'd already memorized. "Thankfully, I'd spent hours playing classic Pitfall!" or "Luckily,

Ahh. Well, she was Indian, so case closed. Thanks for the info!

OT question - is the phrase "do the needful" a quote from something? I ask because, a couple years ago, a co-worker of mine sent a letter to a client with that phrase, basically requesting an urgent follow-up, and our bosses got really upset about it. I'd never seen that phrasing before and assumed it was just an

It's not so much that it's not interesting, it's that it's bluegrass. And, as the joke goes, if you've heard one bluegrass song, you've heard em both.

I tried watching Entourage relatively recently just for Jeremy Piven, but it's so rough, I can barely even hatewatch it. For some reason, I thought it might be like Veep - a delightfully profane, inside-baseball sort of thing. But it's just douchey and terrible. I abandoned even trying to watch the scenes with

Man, these soundtracks introduced me to the English Beat and the Specials, and for that I'm forever grateful. Not to mention prompting me to actually go buy a Clash album - I'd heard of them, but didn't own anything by them at that point. And that slowed down version of "Let My Love Open the Door" is so good, both

Oh man, forgot about Dawson's Creek. I knew so many otherwise rational adults who became unreasonably obsessed with that show.
