I think I'd be a lot more excited about this whole project if I didn't think that Paul Feig's idea of the pinnacle of comedy is Melissa McCarthy shitting in a sink.

They did. They cancelled Community.
Yes. This movie is totally underrated, one of my favorites from when I was a kid. I've been trying to make my boyfriend watch it for the past year, and he thinks it's just going to be kind of stupid and all about Val Kilmer being hunky. Now I'm feeling a little dismayed because an Adam Sandler-produced sitcom is…
I think I'm kind of in disbelief. I'm really glad I made the effort to see them a bunch of times since the reunion. I really hope all these guys are ok healthwise and this is just a tiff amongst band members or something minor that can be remedied. I mean, they were just adding new shows, like, yesterday.
Class Clown Spots a UFO is probably the best rock album of the last ten years. Bears For Lunch and Motivational Jumpsuit are also awesome. And Cool Planet is pretty fucking rad, as well.
This is a bummer. I hate touch screens. I like having one portable device that can hold a shit-ton of music, and my 160 GB iPod is it. It's also the only Apple product I own, and now I'm thinking about buying another one purely for hoarding purposes. Ugh.
Yeah, these guys sound pretty good, but I don't wanna wear their t-shirt. (Speaking of which, props to the drummer on his homemade GBV shirt.)
I'll be there with bells and an oversized flannel shirt on.
Quality of Armor, Motor Away, Hardcore UFOs, Perfect This Time, Skills Like This, Dig Through My Window, Cheyenne, 14 Cheerleader, Acorns & Orioles, June Salutes You, Pimple Zoo, Class Clown Spots a UFO, Game of Pricks, Eureka Signs, Over the Neptune, Keep it in Motion, Sad If I Lost It…shit, I can't even keep it to a…
I've been an X fan for years, and this is really a bummer. I knew she was into all this conspiracy stuff, but it was hard to tell how serious it was. This is kind of a step beyond, and it doesn't seem to be a performance piece or a joke to her. And to be a public figure and post in a public forum that these kids…
I'd add Rip It Up and Start Again by Simon Reynolds to that list. Fills in the gaps between Please Kill Me and Our Band…, with a more UK slant, though.
Agreed - I loved TLG on X-Files, because they lightened up some extremely dark episodes, and also served as reminders that, without his FBI badge, this could be Mulder. Another slightly loony paranoid conspiracy theorist, shouting into the dark. But a whole hour with just the three of them solving crimes? …I wonder…
For me, it's more the transphobia than the homosexual pedophile angle, though that's pretty tired, too. And then there was Xzibit's line delivery of "guess who he's married to in Massachusetts" - I know he's supposed to be a government stiff, but his tone is unbelievably derisive for a movie made in 2007. As Todd…
Oh yeah, Bleak House is great. Haven't seen Great Expectations yet. I keep trying to watch Hannibal, but I can't take it. All those sumptuously-shot food prep scenes, and IT'S PEOPLE. I know, I keep telling myself "it's TV, it's totally fake. Deal with it." But it still just leaves me queased out.
Oh geez, yeah, those dogs…am I the only one who gets that Roky Erickson "working in the Kremlin with a two-headed dog" song stuck in their head at the end of this movie?
Is Twilight Zone on Netflix or Hulu? I haven't seen it in a million years, and back then I borrowed my friend's VHS (!!) collection.
Have you seen The Fall yet? It's streaming on Netflix, and she's amazing in it.
Another vote for Skinner as favorite recurring character - Mitch Pileggi cannot receive enough praise. His monologue in One Breath about his out-of-body experience in Vietnam is one of my favorite XF character moments. And he's amazing in Zero Sum.
(Incidentally, Shaenon makes a great point on her comic version of Never Again: forget about Home; casting Jodie Foster as a disembodied voice that convinces a man to kill is the sickest thing this show ever did.)
Indeed! I think AVC may need to start a forum for X-Philes dealing with the loss of their forum.
