146 million? Holy F***. I don't feel so bad about buying all those X-Files DVDs used at Suncoast, then.

Agreed. Because of Jeffrey Tambor, I expected it to be more broadly comedic, and I was pleasantly surprised that it had some serious weight. His performance was marvelous - just his two minutes or so in the group therapy session were amazing. I found myself thinking about it the next day - a very positive sign.
…And is it Langley or Frohike who coined the phrase "my kung fu is the best"? Because I still use that phrase occasionally as events warrant.
Oooh The Fall. That show scared the crap out of me. Not one to watch alone at night in the dark!
I just need to say out loud how much I love Melvin Frohike. The furry vests. That time he brought Scully flowers in the hospital. The origin episode where he's warring with Langley. He's like the Moe Syzlak of The X-Files.
I guess that's the thing - he is a smart guy, and it's Jezebel, Thurston - you really wanna honor that with a response? But if he is going to respond, you'd think (or I'd think) that he'd be a little more mannered and adult, especially considering that he and Kim have a daughter. Instead, he seems to have zero…
Somehow I can put most obnoxious rock star behavior on the shelf and listen to their music anyway, but ever since this news broke it's made me want to not listen to Sonic Youth. Maybe it's because Kim's in the band, and I always really dug Kim, even if she's not exactly James Jamerson and she looks like she'd totally…
I remember really disliking that oversaturated cinematography at the time - even though it worked for that episode, it made me miss that misty gray, shadowy look of the early years. Watching it the second time around, I was able to appreciate how it immediately told us we were in a whole new territory.
I feel divided about it - like Morr1gan and The Crimson Avenger here, I loved seeing M&S again, and their sort of loving-but-tension-filled relationship felt very real. But there were so many loose plot ends that made it feel incredibly unsatisfying. For instance, why was this particular case so important that the…
Indeed. Gillard is so f'in underrated, I can't even. Me & my better half went to see Bambi Kino a couple weeks ago (they're a Beatles tribute band, but they only play the stuff from the Hamburg Reeperbahn shows - Gillard's the George Harrison) and during one of the breaks, the DJ started playing "The Brides Have Hit…
Yeah, I think I'd give MJ a B. It's got some solid tunes, definitely growing on me faster than Bears or Factory. Honestly, though, I think the only post-reunion album that's really consistent throughout is Class Clown Spots a UFO. The others have all been really spotty to me…a handful of amazing songs surrounded by…
Mine starts with Over the Neptune/Mesh Gear Fox. (I'm sure you all were wondering.)
Agree with that great shot of Dylan going by on the bike in Lord of the Flies. Also great: that moment when Dr. Rocky says "I've never had a partner before" and Scully replies "I have," in this great almost-nonchalant sort of way. I didn't totally hate this episode, even though it did feel like a re-hash…maybe I'm…
It starts out ok, but as soon as Duchovny starts trying to attempt a southern accent…oh, the pain.
Yes to X-Files Season 10. I read the first run of Topps comics back in the day - they were ok, but Season 10 is excellent. I have some mixed feelings, though, about the fact that they seem to bring every dead character back to life. But, aside from that, I'm kind of hoping they use these as a platform for a third…
I rather liked 4D - Lukesh reminded me of Donnie Pfaster, and the character actress playing the mother was really good. The plot was a little convoluted, like a more complicated "Monday," but overall not a bad late-season entry.
Too bad. I thought she might play a bigger role and I was disappointed that she didn't.
Favorite TV Classic feature seconded. Todd & Zach, you guys do such a great job on your X-Files write-ups - this has been my favorite place to go to sate my need for serious XF talk. Tumblr gifs of Mulder and Scully making googly-eyes at each other are cute and all, but ultimately not very filling.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that!
Stray Observations:
I wish we'd had more Sheila Larken in Season 8. Also, I had a really hard time believing that, after everything that happened in Per Manum, Scully would allow some random woman to come in and be her "helper."
