I loved that episode, "My Father's Office."  I have a hard time re-watching this show now, not so much because of the music, but because Dan Lauria reminds me so much, in appearance and action, of my own dad, who's now passed on.  A couple of years ago, I caught one in syndication, can't remember the name, but the

So, I guess I'm the only Scrooge here.  I found the Christmas episode a letdown back in the day, and not much improved on a recent re-watch.  Maybe my expectations were just too high - I've found Lily Tomlin hilarious ever since I was a kid watching 9 to 5 and The Incredible Shrinking Woman. But here I felt like both

Highly underrated film!

Indeed!  I'm surprised at how underrated Gordon Korman is.  Don't Care High and Interflux have such great, quirky characters.  Almost like book versions of Savage Steve Holland movies.

I'm kind of surprised that Dreamland II gets a relatively poor review here.  Re-watching them, I felt it was the first episode that dragged and the second episode actually had a bit of forward-motion, plotwise, as well as some of the funnier moments (Scully in the bedroom, the Lone Gunmen scene) and the surprisingly

As an older, long-time viewer, I think it's not so much a matter of "disliking the comedy episodes" - I love Jose Chung, Bad Blood, Small Potatoes - most of the best "comedy" episodes, like the Dreamlands, serve to lighten the mood, but get at the heart of some of our heroes' flaws (Mulder's inability to lead a

I kind of felt bad for Nora Dunn having to play so over-the-top shrill through most of this episode, but I do love that moment when Scully shows up and just when Mulder's looking all happy and relieved, Dunn slaps him in the kisser.

I have the same POV issues.  If we see Duchovny as Fletcher and McKean as Mulder, shouldn't we also see the pilot and the Hopi woman in the same way?

Am I the only one who gets a little skeeved out now whenever there's a Mulder-watching-porn moment on the show, knowing what we know now about Duchovny's real-life porn addiction?  Not to be a buzzkill, but…it's kinda weird, right?

There are a couple of other Dreamland references later in the series, as well.  If memory serves, the fused dime-penny comes back in one of the s8 eps, as well as the "Something Smells Good!" apron that Fletcher wears in part 2.  I think Scully wears it while she's performing an autopsy, for some reason.

I remember being really wowed by this episode when it first aired, but feeling that it didn't hold up to repeated viewings.  I watched it again last week, knowing this review was coming up, and it faired a bit better, although, much like the dance scene in PMP, I felt like the ending tilted a bit too shippery for a
