Lunar was also pretty awesome. Well, Silver Star Story and Eternal Blue were, anyways. The less said about Dragon Song, the better.
I ended up with Lunar instead of Granstream, but really I could’ve ended up with either. Heavy anime advertising, IIRC. I’m sad it didn’t do better.
The Granstream Saga was another underrated game, though I think it sold quite poorly. If memory serves me right, that game bankrupted Quintet, the studio behind classics like Actraiser, Terranigna, and Illusion of Gaia.
I think I remember the plot of that game.
Azure Dreams totally existed. A great game with one of the worst English localizations of the PS1 era, and that’s saying something.
And here I am thinking Azure Dreams may not actually exist, because I feel like no one else played it.
It’s peerless as an SNES JRPG, which isn’t to say there weren’t others that were wonderful and memorable.
Chrono Trigger is an all time classic, but I don’t know if it’s fair to say it had no real true rivals in the SNES library. What about Final Fantasy 6? Or Earthbound? Or even Secret of Mana? SNES had no shortage of quality titles.
They won. Plain and simple. Russia got what it wanted, an unhinged pro-Russian american government that is now compromised at it’s highest level.
