So now ladies and gentleman it is star time
Are you ready for star time?
Thank you and thank you very kindly
It is indeed a great place to present to you
At this particular time
National and international known
As the hardest working man in show business
Man to sing 'I'll Go Crazy'
'Try Me'
'You Got The Power'
'Think'
'If You

Yeah, I'm a little disappointed. I was expecting something batcrap crazy.
Quick - someone tweet Sarah Palin!

You're 9 years younger than me.
Who's next?

I'd pay good money for a talking R. Lee Ermey doll.

Oh wow, that is so perfect I don't mind that you just made me spit coffee all over my keyboard. ◕‿◕

Now I'm imagining Cagney as Jesus, Bogart as Judas, Raft as Pilate with Ann Sheridan as Mary Magdalen and Eddie G. as Herod.

Definitely, I mean, who can know what a camel will do ahead of time, they're pretty ornery. It is amazing how quick all those performers from vaudeville and radio were though, Groucho being the best example. They obviously loved to go off script, usually in an attempt to crack up their costars. At least on stage,

Shouldn't that be 'thrust into them' ?

Of course, some of those 'ad-libs' were written in advance. Hope and Crosby had competing teams of comedy writers coming up with lines so they could top each other. Which is pretty funny in itself.

"Wet she's a star. Dry she ain't." - Fanny Brice.

I knew a boy in high school named Lovibond.
His first name wasn't Hamlet, though.

That may be my favourite. ◕‿◕

Add her to the list of current Brit actors with odd monikers -
Imogen Poots
Honeysuckle Weeks
Benedict Cumberbatch

Well if we go with Brits then - Michael Caine, Terence Stamp, Albert Finney and as the young whippersnapper - Pierce Brosnan.

Henry Rollins has complained about punk fan's purism more than once. Aside from MOR the three music genres that were most despised during the 70s were prog, fusion and disco, but now decades later the music can be judged on its own terms, instead of as a competing style swallowing 'real' music.

That little boy's name was Donald Trump and now you know the rest of the story.

And with a mighty whoosh the man of steel entered the batcave…

Great article! Saw a punk doco a few years ago and remember being surprised at how many punks admitted being fans of glam. Roxy Music seemed a particular favourite, even more than Bowie. But boy did they hate prog rock! Especially ELP.

No nostalgic Brits game enough to fly the flag for the Carry On series? They parodied everything from Tarzan to Hammer Horror to Westerns. Apparently Andy Warhol, of all people, was a fan. The one that sticks with me is Carry On Cleo.
