Just for the record: TGW has been trying to find a search engine name equivalent to 'Google' for the show, but CBS lawyers have rejected every attempt. The closest they could get was 'Chumhum.' I watched the video of The Good Wife panel at the NYTimes Festival (thanks avclub), and even Julianna Margulies was shaking

The concept of Nick was terrific — from the moment Alicia found Kalinda's uncashed check, then had those creepy, terrifying phone calls from Nick's associate. But Nick himself is neither creepy nor terrifying. A little goofy, actually.

It doesn't have to be depressing. That you (and many people in this thread; not picking on you) think it has to be depressing explains a great deal. Things get hard, and our collective reaction is, "Let's not think about it."

If this were true, then we'd have seen a lot of blue-collar comedy during the 90s, when the economy was roaring. We didn't. We like pretty people and pretty problems no matter what's going on in the world.

"Don't worry about what….Mary J. Blige has to say." Best moment of the season, if you include Christopher trying to stay mad, and then cracking up.

I'd rather see Max on a unicycle any day.

Watching this show is like watching an algebra problem working itself out. Yeah, I get it, but this is supposed to be funny?

Which all goes back to the main take-away from the show, at least for me: schools can't do everything. I hate to say it, because I used to think so — I was one of those break-your-back teachers in a city public school (and wouldn't trade a minute of it).

The key interview, for me, was the teacher talking about the praise she gets: "you're a saint, I could never do what you do…" And her response: Right. You probably couldn't do what we do here. So you'll let us do all the work while you stay off to the side.
