To me, his posturing coolness and "angry guy" facade has always come across as really fake and over-calculated, like a desperate attempt to create an interesting persona for himself. He's made some great music, but as a human being, he seems a pretty miserable guy.

I really liked CFN for the first few episodes, but man, they really love dropping the same jokes over and over again: constant callbacks to kitten hands and Graham's annoying "I'm [fill in the blank], I am" British accent. Plus, they have a tendency to laugh hysterically over the tiniest jokes.

I might need to check that one out. I just started listening to How Did That Get Made, and it's pretty funny. I've been listening to Comedy Film Nerds for a while, but I think it's starting to wear a little thin for me.

He was like a man who swallowed a hammer: too late.

It shouldn't be guilty pleasure. It's hilarious.

I loved the Paul Rubens interview, but I had to turn the podcast off about two minutes into the Little Gary segment. My ears and brain simply can't handle that character.

I enjoy at least a couple of the SModcast shows, and I'm actually kind of glad the AV Club isn't covering any of them. It would just turn half of the comment section into threads about how fat Kevin Smith is and how much he sucks.

Smits' best moment on Dexter:

Eh, I dunno. I remember hearing Jim Norton rave about how great Cloris Leachman was during one of the roasts, and when I saw it, it seemed fairly obvious that she was just reading jokes that were written for her. Sure, there's an art to delivering a joke properly, even if it's one you didn't write, but the whole

I just don't tend to play my iPod in environments that are conducive to audiophile listening. I really don't need pristine lossless quality while I'm running on the treadmill or driving on the interstate. If I want to do some serious music listening at home, I crank up the turntable and the old tube amp. Grados rule,

I guess the digital-to-analog converter could be a variable to the sound quality, but I've actually heard most audiophiles claim that the DAC in the iPod is pretty decent.

@Prole Hole

Throw me in with the iTunes supporters. It took me a little while to get used to it when I first installed it on my old PC (I was used to playing everything in Winamp), but I quickly grew to like it. I've never had any problems with it on my Macbook. I don't know what it is that people are trying to do in iTunes

I had one, but I gave it away to a friend when I switched from a PC to a Mac. I actually never had a problem with the Zune other than its assholishly slow and clunky software.

Yeah, I really wanted to like it because I enjoy Todd Glass' standup and his appearances on other podcasts, but I found their political and social talk unbearably preachy and self-righteous. I actually agree with a lot of their main points, but they really fulfill the stereotype of condescending L.A. liberals looking

So I guess I'm alone in thinking Clerks 2 is the best movie he's made since Dogma?

I've only heard a handful of episodes, so I can't really judge the podcast yet. I definitely like it better than the Nerdist though.

Agreed with GOMP. The Undiscovered Project just isn't that funny to me, but I do like it when he's just riffing by himself. At first, the Jen Kirkman calls seemed a little too inside-jokey for me, but I'm starting to warm up to them.

I might give it a try then. I find Pepitone's "character" on WTF incredibly grating and annoying, but I enjoyed him on Jackie Kashian's Dork Forest.

Yeah, I think Marc was a tad too confrontational, but I think Gallagher did a good job digging his own grave by showing what a delusional, bitter, and self-entitled old crank he is.
