Glad to see the Audio/Video Club took the time to interview Mr. Pardo.

Ugh.
Good to know Pulp Fiction is making its way to YouTube before Blu-Ray.
I really enjoy the interview portions of WTF because the guests are usually pretty interesting, but I realized that don't really like Marc Maron. His whole self-obsessed/self-loathing persona gets incredibly tiresome. Did anyone catch the Live in Austin episode from a couple of weeks ago? He had on what had to be some…
I concur, Dark Passengerside Airbag. I was a listener of Opie & Anthony for years until I finally got tired of all the endless negativity and hate. Don't get me wrong. I like dark (even mean-spirited) comedy as much as the next guy, but too much of it is just a drag after a while. Podcasts have been a very refreshing…
I'm warming up to his podcast. I actually kind of like the awkward moments where it's just him talking to himself. I'm kind of meh on this continuing Andrew Lloyd Weber/Ice T/John C. Reilly/Cake Boss story though.
It's funny you brought up that particular Doug Loves Movies episode because that's the first one I heard, and I really liked it. When I downloaded some more episodes, I was really disappointed. I'm not crazy about the live podcasts in general, and I just flat-out don't think Doug is a funny guy. His delivery is lazy…
I love Pardo on NNF, and I've like all of his CDR appearances as well. I wasn't crazy about his Pompous Clown CD though. His improvised crowd work approach is probably a lot of fun live, but I don't think it works very well as a CD.
What I don't get…
Were there really people out there who seriously wanted to buy Beatles albums but were too lazy to just buy the CDs and rip them? I'll never get why this was such a huge issue.
Yeah, I'm really surprised by this write-up. The first couple of episodes gave me high hopes, but I think this season has been a meandering mess for the most part. It's an improvement on the last two, but that's not saying much. Plus, Nancy has been made into such an unlikable and unsympathetic character that I don't…
Does Kanye know how TV works?
Does he think Matt Lauer edited the interview himself?
I just remembered that my friend actually fell asleep during one of the "Freewheeling" shows.
I'm amazed by how often they play Birmingham. This will be the third time they've come here since 2006.
I wouldn't mind it if he were actually "shredding." The problem is that it's just a bunch of feedbacky dicking around. It can be cool in small doses, but they have a bad habit of stretching it out to really obnoxious lengths.
Hmmmm
They should have a spot on the wheel that says "A Set Completely Free of Boring Noise Jams."
"Conor's right though - I always thought pop-punk was the most bullshit genre, because are the two things not mutually exclusive?"
Maybe Wild Man Fisher should have had a guillotine on stage.
@Bender Bukowski - I think they changed their ways a bit once they got away from all the White Panther crap, but in Please Kill Me, Wayne Kramer regretfully admits that they were a bunch of sexist assholes who treated their girlfriends like house maids.
I think the MC5 had a cool image and all, but their pretentious "brothers and sisters" shtick hasn't aged well. Plus, if you read anything about them, you'll find out that their whole political edge was entirely the construction of their manager, John Sinclair. Oh, and they were a bunch of sexist jerks to boot.
Those early 70s albums are great! Hell, I think Killer beats the shit out of anything the MC5 ever released. Up your nose with a rubber hose, critics.
Oh man
I can't wait for the Mark E. Smith biopic. That'll be a fun one.
