That's the main reason why I'll never set foot in a brick-and-mortar rental ever again. Once video stores started guaranteeing to have new releases in stock, they got rid of half of their old movies. "Hey, do you have Apocalypse Now?" "No, but we have 50 copies of Dante's Peak!"

Yeah, most of what I rent is old stuff anyway, so I probably won't feel much of a blow from this. I have enough crap in my queue to where I can handle waiting an extra month to catch a new release.

The first Dice album I heard was The Day the Laughter Died II, which is staggeringly unfunny. He knew his career was circling the drain, and you can tell by his attitude throughout the whole album. The album actually ends with him confronting an audience member and threatening to punch him. There's a good chance the

Yep, the opening track is from the Birmingham show I attended. Last month, Robert Pollard also released a live album of a show I was at. I get around.

I never saw Stanhope on there, but I love the guy.

Yeah, Drawn Together was abysmal. It was so desperately "shocking" and unfunny. I think I hated Mind of Mencia even more though.

Not very surprised
I'd love to see Comedy Central's success-to-dud ratio for original programming over the last 15 years. It's got to be pretty impressive.

Yep, I think it's funny whenever I hear people passionately argue about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as if it's something that actually matters. Doesn't the whole museum-izing of the music undermine the nature of rock and roll? Do people really need to have their favorite bands validated by a bunch of elitist

So am I completely alone in not getting the big deal over Phoenix?
I've been hearing people rave about their album all year. It's pleasant, but nothing about it strikes me as being particularly special.

The release of Stop Making Sense on DVD ten years ago is what made me break down and buy a DVD player. Whenever I get around to buying a Blu Ray player, I should make Stop Making Sense my first purchase just for the hell of it.

Cool
I already had my DVR programmed to record A Face in the Crowd. I had no idea Neko was hosting it. I saw her live last summer, and she was great.

Congrats to Louis CK
Louis CK is probably the funniest comic out there today. I hope his film does well.

Is that Gimme Shelter on Blu Ray?
I already have the old Criterion DVD, and it's fantastic.

Handmade Films?
How much of a dork am I that the main reaction I had watching the trailer was, "Holy shit. Handmade Films still exists?"

Yeah, I used to get really excited when B&N would have their "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" deals until I realized that I could probably buy the same stuff on Amazon any day for the same price, if not less.

I think his dirty material is every bit as hacky and unfunny as his wholesome America's Funniest Home Videos routines. He's just managed to dress up his act with dick and incest jokes. It comes off as really belabored and desperate to me.

Actually, the "If there is a God, may he strike this audience dead" bit is on You Are All Diseased.

Yep, I just saw these guys last weekend, and they put on a great show. Mark Sultan has a GREAT voice.
