Yeah, jokes aside, it’ll do 80 or 85 without much fuss and the shaking is only between 65 and 70. I normally just go out of my way to take side roads, which are more fun to drive on anyway.

80 in my Jeep TJ is not something I enjoy doing. All speed limits should be 60 and highways should be abolished because the shaking starts at 65.

Subaru already has this with STI.

How do you save it? You kill it.

Crossovers (CRV, Forester, Rav4) are a replacement for a sedan. SUVs (Suburban, Yukon, Telluride, Pilot) are replacements for minivans.

“OOOOoo...it’s a marlin” bum badabum badabum badabum badabum badabum badabum badabum BUHHHHH WEEEEEEWAHHHHHHHHH

I mean, really, what’s an Eagle but a more aggressive Outback? Gremlin would never sell because of the bad press - think of the modern Dart, but if they did I’d picture it similar to a Civic Sport hatch. As for the Pacer, I’m seeing that looking kind of like a Nissan Juke.

Imagine a retro styled AMX or Javelin.

I don’t know anything about this car other than what’s in the article here, but this doesn’t look like cool retro classic to me. It looks like Buddy Cop movie car chase destruction fodder.

Yeah, that one you have shows both a D and circled D. You could assume D was 1, 2, 3 with 3 being 1:1 then [D] was a 4th overdrive gear. I guess it would make sense in vehicles made for towing to have a drive that doesn’t go into overdrive. Our 2000 Yukon had a little button on the butt end of the stalk you could

As far as I know it’s a universal nickname for an automatic gear shift. I’m certain that Toyota’s had an L instead of 1-2 in the 90s because I had a couple of them. I assume it was more widely spread enough to create the nickname at some point in automotive history.

That doesn’t really define the shifter’s location though like the original phrases do.

7 in the console doesn’t really have the same ring to it.

Calling out Dubs by name kinda died out when cars started getting 20" rims from the factory and it was no longer unique.

Every time I say PRNDL to someone I have to explain what it is, why it’s called that, and what the L stands for.

My current DD. 2002 Wrangler X 4.0 with the 3 speed auto, 196,000 miles.

It’s just truth in advertising.

In the manual of my 2002 4.0 Wrangler it says “DO NOT REFUEL AFTER HEAT DEATH OF UNIVERSE”

Yeah, I was just assuming it was an overpriced EV until the end.

Bought my ‘02 TJ 4.0 last year with 187k miles on it with the proceeds from my totaled 2010 Subaru Legacy. So far it’s running like a top. Minor issues here and there, but nothing I didn’t expect with a nearly 20 year old car with almost 200k. The most “major” issue was a leak in the radiator which was under $100 and
