If I clear out my history from FF's archives to speed up the browser (as suggested on LH), can this store my history in a way that doesn't slow it down?

@The_Souljourner: Right on, although I have to say that EVERY time you use a straight edge knife on something that's tough enough, it needs to be sharpened. Even the best knives' edges fold over.

If you buy cheap you get cheap. If you pay $10 for a knife it won't hold an edge, and regular serrated edges are worthless unless you're willing to replace them every few years.

@DiscoZombie: Proven? Wow, that's an awful strong word for someone with no proof.

@CJG: I think it was...

Why are people complaining about this technique? It's not for pleasure reading—it's for speed reading...

@olegna: (**trying hard to not start an argument**) Whatever most "Christians" think, the reason I believe that the government shouldn't redistribute wealth (in a broad sense, not categorically) is because it's the churches' and individuals' obligation. In the perfect world, every Jesus follower would give a

procrastination has never failed me yet

Hate to be a downer, but this will probably only help you with a word or two, which you may not ever use. I changed my phone settings to French for months, and I can only remember one phone-related word which I used when I was in France for a semester.

@DisposableInterloper: I'm not saying that the iPhone isn't a great phone (I almost added this part to my first post but I didn't want it to be too long)! The App store is revolutionary, and as Adam said, the hardware is great. My point is simply that the Apple doesn't target the people who use Google Voice or

Face it: Apple and the iPhone have never been for people who read Lifehacker or people who want the most useful mobile device. It's for people who WANT A FANCY PHONE WITH A PRETTY MENU, because there are far more of those people. They don't care that they're stifling innovation. They don't get paid according to

@dchall8: We had a contest like this in 8th grade algebra, and I won using this method. I only was able to see the jar for about a minute when I guessed but that was enough time to get a rough estimate of the dimensions (in M&M's). My guess was 625, and there were 627.

I''m not sure how it went from "your purpose" to "the meaning of life". Those are two different things. I believe in an omnipotent god (Who has a meaningful plan) but that doesn't mean that I don't have to figure out what to do! This could be useful...I just don't have 20 minutes right now.

@superkong: I think it means 40% of WoW players are Chinese, but it is unclear; I had to reread that a couple times.

@YHVH: The rule I was taught is you let a lady decide whether or not she wants to shake hands, although here in Indiana I think women always will shake hands in a job interview setting.

I am OCD and I still shake hands (even though I think about germs every time!). Physical contact is and always will be a good way to establish trust and break tension.

I always had trouble waking up and staying alert throughout the day in high school and my first year of college, which I think was caused by my debilitating allergies. But now (at the risk of sounding like an infomercial) I drink something called Limu every morning, my allergy attacks are 90% reduced, and I don't

Great post! I've been wrestling with whether or not this thing is actually worthwhile, but I'm definitely going to use the search feature and ask people questions through Twitter now.

i made about $13.5K selling knives as an independent contractor, but with my wife's and my 'stimuli' we still got about $500 back. i thought i'd owe something since we only paid a hundred or two in taxes throughout 2008.
