I’m not a fan of the word either, but it works to differentiate it from a skirt suit (Chanel skirt suit vs. Armani pantsuit)...

Perhaps too obscure: The Love She Never Had. (My fave Mary track)

It took me until adulthood to realize that Pepe Le Pew also played on the awful stereotype of French hygiene (in addition to being sleazy). So the filmmakers have lost one major market there...

Misleading = Lying

Sorry, this wasn’t some tea social where she didn’t want to ruffle the feathers of other guests. Swift’s a multi-platinum-selling artist with a closet full of Grammys and millions in the bank.

Her point is a complete non-sequitur, though. It’s like your dentist bringing up the fact that you need to exfoliate more: dentists deal with teeth, not skin. And BLM has enough on its plate trying to keep black Americans alive without diluting their message to try to be all things to all people.

Both Bergen and Bening are over 30.

Until you get the thousandth person who thinks they’re being cute by making a joke about it, I think. But, then again, my pun tolerance is low.

Like the name ‘Apple Martin’ always makes me think of ‘apple martini’, having ‘Rose’ in the same name as ‘Gardner’ makes me groan. But congratulations on the bundle of joy, Tyler & Gardner...

Nope: that’s her real hair. And she chose that style, which makes it worse. (My sister’s hood beautician, so I’ve seen this look up close)

But punching down is always a bad move. Unless Brinkley wanted this press, she should have ignored it: she’s given the story legs by responding.

Then call the police and have the urinator cited. If someone’s smoking in a public no-smoking place, I don’t have the right to shoot him/her with a water pistol.

More like consistently hypocritical:

“Plantation slave” is just another version of “Uncle Tom”: you’re still in subservience long after you should have been emancipated. And “coon” is similar to “minstrel”: you’re playing the entertaining or expected stereotype for people, usually for profit (see criticisms of many of the worst black reality show stars).

If the reporter were shoving a mic in her face with a camera crew surrounding her, I could understand the mother flipping out (minus the racial slurs). But the reporter and cameraperson were standing well away from the mother, not focused on her at all...and the mother came out of her way to attack them.

Um, black people are not the ones who need to “realize that we are the same”. We know. But it’s a lesson that needs to be learned by people who think the treatment of Eric Garner, Sandra Bland and Tamir Rice was justified (oops). Timberlake needs to be lecturing to those folks...

Most black models work less than white models: Christy snagged Maybelline, Carolyn Murphy had Estée Lauder, and Cindy had Revlon. Naomi never had a cosmetics contract.
