Here is the problem as I see it...Nobody actually flying this aircraft is enthusiastic about it! Nobody! That should say so much! Many of the guys who started flying the V-22 raved, even after it tried to kill them!

http://breakingdefense.com/2012/09/flying…

Nobody with actual hands on experience is saying anything

If they have stealth, and we have stealth, how are you supposed to shoot what you cant see...Oh...maybe we can get closer and see them...Oppps that isnt gonna work! We are doomed by not learning from our past mistakes! History is a really bad task master in combat!

If you are flying a spreadsheet or Power Point presentation, than this thing will kick ass! If you are actually in the aircraft, when in an actual air to air, close in fight...Aim the PowerPoint or Spread sheet at the adversary and that should do the trick! if not...Use all the engineering promises and specs, and see

This kid is what great Marines are made of. They dont give him the job they did unless he is in the dedicated top 1%! He has the same attitude that says, I will not quit and the job will be done! It takes a lot of will power to give that much energy and time to just doing your job. He is also well written and is able

So much of this story says what is wrong with this aircraft. Nothing can say Oppps, like a 50 million dollar oppps...now add that up during combat ops and you have a program that is going to be so risk adverse, might as well go tell your adversary, hey...only gotta shoot down one and oh, by the way, it also can’t

Must be the best job in the Navy! Take a cushy flying 737, with coffee machines, heads on board, racks to take a nap, load it with cookies, snacks, wiz-bang gizmos, bombs, missiles and say...here, go barnstorming! Then return to an airbase, that you can go home to your wife and kids. After a few years of that much

Of all the airports in the world, you had to land here...but we will always have Paris...

I think this is a spot on article, especially about Up Periscope...Kelsy got it right!

I think one of Top Guns things that the audience loved...Maverick didn’t like authority figures...Hmmm, nothing original there...The blending of flying, geekdom and hot babes flying is gonna be what we see... Ain’t nothing gonna be real original...Hollywood doesn’t do original anymore...hence all the sequels, that

Like the photo...Way cool pulloff...

This is a great concept and it actually pretty much worked as designed...which is really unusual these days! They did have to re-teach the skippers and even enlisted about the new missions. Boomer skippers are taught go out in deep water and hide...Totally different track for sneak and peak skipper types... and also

Yep...Got plenty of gas for this dog fight...said no fighter pilot ever! This is the button pushers and bean counters just doing their job! Of course they have lots of statistics and data to prove their mind numbing and boneheaded opinions...but not a single one of them has ever looked at his fuel gauge and wondered,

The best lessons are the ones nobody dies from!

OK...the truth...I’m one of probably 3 people in the US who has the internet, cable TV an Apple TV, an iPad and hasn’t watched or cared to watch this program...So why would anyone care about my opinion...well you probably don’t care...but the buzz of this show is all they care about and they write for that buzz...So

Any new aircraft design has problems and many times they have accidents... Its the unfortunate way how we often learn engineering reality vs engineering drawing board, and also better pilot training, The Osprey was a whole new class of aircraft, not just a new design and it had it’s serious development problems. Look

Great shots and interesting to know.

The biggest battle should be fought within ourselves...to not fight amongst different services and make it all work together! Its’ the real reason we as humans fight at all...Because...if it’s different...it’s not right...Inter-service rivalries have probably caused us more harm than good! This article, like so many

Tyler...You are an amazing analyst...Why are they doing what seems like a whole bunch of stupid? It’s like the top brass, in all the services, are doing all they can to degrade our whole war fighting system... in little bits and pieces over a long time! if you looked back into history, think 1910...or 1940, we were in

Its interesting...The X-craft officers were dead set against the lockout chambers...the divers didn’t want them either...They were both afraid about flooding the sub and the divers were afraid of not being let back in...That was told to me by an old Master diver, who got it from one of the X-craft divers from England.

You are a rarity... A paper pushin heavy! I was a TM and a heavy. I have my wooden model and plaque to prove it and ain’t many like you and congrats!
