LOL
“The kind of winky, self-aware joke that his Batman was so good at it.”
How is this news? Bullcrap.
Agree. I was hoping that would be on here.
I thought A Wounded Fawn was terrible, despite a talented cast and crew. It just fell completely flat for me and didn’t work as a thriller or dark comedy. But I loved the two Jim Cummings movies you mentioned (Beta Test and The Wolf of Snow Hollow).
Replace Dances With Wolves with A Perfect World, directed by Clint Eastwood. Can’t believe that movie is not on this list.
The fact that the Mace Windu/Palpatine fight is on here is ludicrous. That is easily one of the worst action sequences in the franchise. Ian Mcdiarmid clearly couldn’t do the stunts so he just awkwardly jabs at Windu while sneering and it’s comical. The editing also sucks.
I love Helen Mirren, but seriously?! She’s more of an M type to me. Not trying to be ageist, but that choice seems ridiculous.
“And there was a 40-year-old guy in a wheelchair with his two teenage daughters and his wife and I got recognized. He said The Fountain gave him a religion to die.”
It’s Paul Verhoeven, not Verhoven. Sorry to be that guy but he’s one of my favorite directors.
OK that may be the funniest reaction reaction possible. Thank you. I needed a good hearty laugh.
Great article! Surprised there was no mention of Woody Harrelson or Stephen Root, but there’s a lot to focus on here and the juxtaposition of author and filmmakers is very insightful.
Under the headline it reads “Brandon” Gleeson. When are you guys gonna hire some proofreaders?
Good lord, AV Club needs a copy editor. It’s gotten downright pathetic.
The director of School of Good and Evil is named Paul Feig, not Fieg.
