Mafia 3 had the ambition and scope of a Grand Theft Auto game while still keeping it personal. The gameplay loop was solid, and gunplay was fun, but the mission structure bogged the whole experience down. Still a fun game but damn I wish there had been more linear cinematic missions.

Mafia 3 I think has numerous problems, including the very repetitive mission structure, an absence of memorable characters beyond Lincoln himself (and the characters it inherits from Mafia 2), fairly rote combat and open world stuff, and being quite a bit too long. I did enjoy the game, the New Orleans atmosphere was

I’m revisiting the game after finishing the battle pass and campaign around launch. I can’t get any of my friends to reinstall it, because approximately zero of the things that made them quit have been addressed.

Armor unlocks are still incredibly stingy and involve unlocking individual shoulder pieces separately.

Think of a small, but dedicated group who play your game 1000 times more hours than anyone else, who stream it for endless hours, and who will promote it as a very fun game to potential customers, unprompted. Now imagine spending work hours making the game unpopular with that group, in order to make changes that no

I don’t think a game needs to rely on terrain to stop players from leaving the map. They could just have the player stop moving and automatically turn back when they reach the map boundary, then say something like “Nah, I can’t leave yet. I’ve still got business to take care of.”

You’ll need to elaborate on that. How does M1 have better mechanics than M3..?

I’ve played each one several times, it’s not a pissing contest, we can have differing favorites. I think Mafia 3 is the best. James Ballard (the priest character) stole the show and won my imagination. I was immersed.

It was good game for sure, only thing that really screwed it was when they outsourced critical stuff like AI to blind squirrel. It had some excellent concepts like the concepts of the police being racist so their response times would vary depending on the area.

Exactly this. The main issue every review had with Mafia 3 was that the missions for taking over the territory were incredibly generic and repetitive, and that’s the majority of the game.

I think Mafia 3 also had the best mechanics. Combat and stealth were way more fun than they were in the previous games.

At first it felt like they were holding back the good stuff but now it seems like maybe they just can’t get on top of it.

The problem is even if it’s free, it’s just a smaller helping of what we already had. They didn’t raise the bar in any significant way, in fact they took things away.

If I want a Halo fix lately I just revisit the Master Chief Collection. They’re failing a competition against themselves. It’s not just a “rest of the

That’s the general sense among the Halo Infinite community: that 343 Industries is implementing changes based on what they think is best, not on what the most devoted players want.

Your challenges update when the match ends... So if you leave early they still haven’t updated. Whenever the match ends even after you leave then they are updated. Essentially if you leave early they will get updated when everyone else in the match is done.

NFTs literally offer nothing of value. The technology is beyond worthless; it’s actively harmful. There is nothing - nothing - that you can do with NFTs that can’t be done better with other, less destructive, less wasteful technologies.

ugh, I am most of the way through the game as a dual-sword character, and I feel like I slept hard on magic.  although I’m using sword of night and flame, so I still do use that FP bar occasionally, not just to summon ashes.

Fair enough but if their opinion is that this tech is stupid they are well within their rights to post along that line of thinking esp if they don't see what you're stating as a true benefit now or in the future.

That's because sometimes there aren't two sides to a story. In this case NFT's are a scam and printing stories that suggests they aren't is doing a disservice to the people reading the story.

To be fair, if you look at the financials for the studios they’re selling, they are barely keeping their heads above water. Eidos Montreal had revenue of nearly $100m in FY 22 but their net profit after expenses was around $650k. Crystal Dynamics fared slightly better, but cost about as much to run and their profit
