I've heard that people who buy a game can get some kind of code for a Tomodachi life demo, but I'm not sure. It might help people choose. Though, as with this review, it may actually take a while for the appeal to "click".
To me, Yannick's initial dislike of the game and its tediousness is what Zarnyx's review touches on, but Yannick eventually found a different appeal that changed it from a traditional game to a kind of entertaining and interesting ant farm. I think many will be torn along similar lines as both reviews.

I will say that I didn't "get" minecraft until I played with friends. Some people are the type that can make a single player world and have lots of fun building things that no one will ever see. The problem I ran into was that there was no compelling reason to go out of your way to use your hacks. If you decided to use guns, there was no penalty. If a body is found, they're just like HMMMM WHATS THAT? And then they go back to what they were doing.
Iraq's story was probably the most interesting to me, and I wish it could have gone a little further. I really liked his character. And his voice actor out performed whoever voiced Aiden by miles.
