The reason is that the MX5 ND manual transmission can’t handle the additional torque from the Fiat 1.4 turbo.

I have had mine for about a year now, you will have to get used to it. I still enjoy the attention the car gets. No one recognizes the Abarth badge, so I have been asked many times if it is a Maserati, Alfa, and even Ferrari.
