Ditto for Washington, who picked 2 & 3 in 2000.

There’s a name for the ideological framework that encompasses these ideas:
Social democracy.
It’s not a form of socialism.
Thank you for saying this - it’s such a fundamental point. Capitalism is, point blank, the biggest problem humanity faces. I know it’s hard for people to hear - that’s propaganda and indoctrination for you - but it’s literally going to destroy us. Warren is not bad, she’s good, but she does not get this. She believes…
I think the idea of a social democracy sits just fine with most of the population. Which seems to be the endgame for both of them via slightly different paths.
Fitzpatrick is a great football player. As a Dolphins fan, he was one of the core to build around. I think the Steelers made the right choice here by getting a proven player over a lottery ticket draft pick.
It’s important to remember, though, that the Jets are still a thing
Normally, I would scoff at this, but Miami’s tanking plan is so grandiose and galaxy-brained that you might be right. I feel awful for Miami fans. Ok, maybe not too awful since they did give us George W. Bush.
The Colts had #1 and #2 overall in 1991. They picked Steve Emtmann and Quentin Coryatt. Multiple championships ensued.
Our reality has gotten so twisted and buttfucked, that I would not be surprised if the Steelers and Dolphins finish with the two worst records, allowing the Dolphins to pick 1 and 2 in 2020.
The precedent the NFL punishes players for things they haven’t been convicted of was set a long time ago. That was Goddell’s first order of business when he became commissioner. I’m not saying it’s right, just that it’s a settled question. If the players don’t like it, they need to negotiate better protections into…
There aren’t going to be any wheels of justice turning, because she’s chosen to file a civil suit instead of involving the police. Unless one’s definition of justice is a months-long protacted negotiation between two sets of very well-paid lawyers discussing what amount between $1M and $2M of Antonio Brown’s money…
I struggle to balance “he’s a shit person”, with “he’s an employee who has not been convicted of anything.” The second is objectively true, and the first is subjectively true. Why shouldn’t he be allowed to work while the wheels of allegation and investigation and hopefully justice continue to turn?
Sorry to hear about your friend. This is just really depressing at this point, the evident change in personality scares me more than a physical injury or even cognitive decline. I wonder what Andrew Luck is doing right now
Yeah that’s the game. That Von Miller hit was the hit where I thought to myself, “That dude isn’t gonna be the same after that one.”
+1 white curtain on the field
He’s got the yips, and when a quarterback has the yips, there is only one thing left to do.
I watch it once a week to keep me humble
The fact that this sanctimonious blowhard is on TV bitching about this is rich given that he carefully cultivated and monetized his college image while being a terrible failure at everything else he’s tried to do professionally.
Talk about selfish. The only reason the guy starting playing minor league baseball was because his name was becoming increasingly irrelevant after he was a huge bust in the NFL and he just SUCKS in Triple-A. If it was any other player playing like that in Triple-A, he wouldnt have a job anywhere. He literally only has…
Uh, that’s a bold statement considering...you know...*gestures wildly* EVERYTHING else he’s done.
