TV ratings are the only true indicator; DVD sales will never be as good as with the original presenters, who were a brand itself.
Besides, if the new show reinvents itself instead of trying to resurrect the old one, it will be good.

Good points. My point was Rooney and his friends are overpaid when compared to F1 drivers, not to sportspeople in general.

We may have lost Volkswagen rally team, but we gained Toyota’s rally team, I’d say that’s a good draw. Not a win, but not a loss either.

I FFed the last few episodes. The last was set in Dubai, I’m thinking...oh yeah some hypercar madness....but no, a golf and an i3.

i see what you’re saying. and if they could promise “look, he’s just gonna do this and then hes gone, look away for 20 minutes” then i could live with it..

This actually looks very good, and if it is as good as it looks, having both Top Gear and the Grand Tour is only going to be good for gear heads looking for genuinely interesting and entertaining television. I’m actually excited.

Dunno how you forgot about Grand Tour. It’s a pretty damn good show.

I don’t know if Top Gear can’t recover from last season. It got so much better with Harris and Reid taking more of a central role. I still think it has a chance, especially if it becomes it owns show instead of trying to find the past magic it can’t have anymore.
